Looking for Anne: What you see is not what you get

At first the applications trickled in; in the afternoon I'd only received half a dozen applications, thus confirming my fears, and only one or two were good ones. Once it gets passed 17h00, presumably after people have come back from work, applications start flowing in. And this is where I realise what directors (and probably casting directors, though I doubt they'll have a personal connection to a project as a director would have) must be going through when casting a part.

Looking for Anne: A new production company

I'm strongly considering to offer a fee for the role of Anne. Somehow I'm becoming paranoi and feel I need to remunerate to secure the actress's committment. The argument that I, as an actor, would commit to an interesting non paying job, hasn't convinced me yet.

Anne pulls out

The actress who was going to play Anne dropped out today.
Surprisingly, I'm not surprised - in fact, I'm kind of relieved. She had shown little signs of committment so far and I'd started to doubt my choice.
I had asked her to play Anne because she 'looked the part' and because I knew her - we attended the same drama school (the same with Paul Clerkin, the other actor involved). Well, it turned out I didn't really know her.

Annex - The Score

Scoring ANNEX will be an important part of making the film. When I made G54, I was lucky to know that a friend of mine, Vincent Gould, had just made a track appropriately called 'Immigration' which I liked very much. The guitar riffs on that track are unforgettable, as testified by numerous people who saw the film. With ANNEX, I want something similar: an unforgettable sound that can carry the story. So I wrote to two old friends of mine who are currently busy in the music industry.

ANNEX granted an Arts Development Fund

ANNEX has been awarded an Arts Development Fund by Oxford City Council.

The Production Award by OFVM Films will allow us to make use of all their equipment and facilities, including shooting kit (Sony HVR V1E HDV camera + track, dolly, etc), lighting kit (Red Heads, Lilly Putts, Dedo), sound recording kit and editing studio. The Arts Development Fund will cover the production costs, such as travel expenses, catering, location hiring, properties and costume.
